In the world of TikTok, things can spiral quickly. One comment can be misinterpreted, a video reply can be made, and suddenly what was a harmless agreement turns into public drama. That’s exactly what happened to me recently.
A creator shared a video about not wasting products she purchased from TikTok Shop just to make outlandish shoppable videos. I agreed wholeheartedly because I was down to my last two packs of Nature’s Sunshine Chlorophyll. Since I actually use these daily, I didn’t want to waste them on content. I wanted to wait until I restocked before featuring them again.
Instead of seeing my comment for what it was, support.
She assumed I was trying to take away from her audience. She made a video shaming me publicly, then followed it up with an apology video that felt less about accountability and more about engagement.
That experience reminded me of a powerful truth:
Integrity Over Drama
I have come a looooooong way!!!! Drama creates temporary clicks. Integrity builds long-term trust. I didn’t waste time arguing or playing the petty game. I stood by my comment, explained my intent, and left it at that. More importantly, I turned the situation into something better, a reminder that my business doesn’t begin or end on TikTok. TeeTee McPetty would have gone back and forth all day....Brooke the Creator created another way to monetize this situation outside of TikTok.
I have multiple streams of income, and my platforms are built for longevity. Unlike TikTok trends, they don’t disappear when the algorithm shifts or a video gets buried.
Evergreen Platforms, Evergreen Income
While someone else may need to stir up drama for engagement, I don’t. I’ve built systems that work for me across different platforms:
Amazon Storefront – I use and recommend products I actually buy and love.
GlyMed Plus – As a licensed esthetician, I provide professional skincare recommendations through my affiliate account.
Nature’s Sunshine – I share wellness products that I incorporate into my daily life.
In fact, I’m taking 25 of my 111 products I currently have on my TikTok shop...yes, the same ones I use daily, and linking them through my Amazon, GlyMed Plus, and Nature’s Sunshine accounts. Im an Amazon Associate, Glymed Plus Skincare ambassador and Natures's Sunshine Consultant. That way, even if TikTok disappeared tomorrow, my content and my income streams wouldn’t.
That’s the beauty of creating evergreen content—it lives on your blog, your storefronts, and your other evergreen platforms. It’s not tied to fleeting trends or temporary drama.
Lessons Learned
Don’t chase attention. Build trust. Followers who see your consistency will always respect authenticity over clout-chasing.
Diversify your income. Never depend on just one platform for your livelihood.
Let engagement work for you. If someone tries to “use” your name for their clicks, flip it. Create content that tells your side of the story while promoting your evergreen platforms.
The Bottom Line
TikTok is a tool, not the foundation. What really matters is creating systems that outlast temporary chaos. While others may rely on drama for growth, I rely on authenticity, multiple income streams, and platforms that continue working for me day after day!
So yes—if someone tries to put me on blast, I’ll flip it into blog posts, affiliate links, and evergreen content that makes me money long after the TikTok dust settles because Im not the 1 or the 2!
Because at the end of the day, I don’t just create for clicks.
I create for longevity, income, and inspiration.
